A gala dinner Friday evening celebrated the high school track winners and included a keynote address from Scott Maloney, chief executive officer and co-founder of Bowtie.
In his presentation, Maloney addressed the importance of student startup competitions in asking big questions to solve big problems.

The winning teams are:The objective of the annual Business Plan Competition is to encourage student entrepreneurs and support the growth of jobs in New Jersey. In order to compete for the business competition prizes, there must be a serious intent to launch the proposed business.
The competition is open to individuals or groups (for-profit or non-profit) whose business plan focuses on developing startup or expanding a business based on Hawaii Island.* The purpose of the Competition is to stimulate development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem on Hawaii Island.
